Council Members
The Council Members are selected from each of the
five adhering bodies, and two others are selected at large from the General Assembly, which meets during the International Congress held every three years. An additional Council member is selected by the Scientific Committee for Antarctic Research (SCAR), and a representative from the World Health Organization (WHO) serves as an official observer. Terms are for three years, with a maximum of
three terms.
