Working Groups

The professional organizations (the adhering bodies) that comprise the IUCH in turn sponsor the Congress in new locations every three years. However, the international Working Groups established by IUCH continue to deal the specific topics in disease prevention and control, health and safety promotion, and health and safety protection, between the Congress sessions.

Current working groups deal with cancer, environmental health, family health, fetal alcohol syndrome, HIV, AIDS, and STDs, injury prevention, tobacco and health, occupational safety, women's health, and indigenous peoples. All of these topics are of special interest to public health practitioners and researchers in the North.

The links below provide brief descriptions of the terms of reference for each of the Working Groups.
